A marvelous night for a Moondance.

I had a great time at the Moondance Film Festival it was my first real “industry event”. Everything worked out pretty well with the travel (versus the last trip, with the arriving at Sundance around midnight and returning on a red eye).

I went to a couple workshops, which were great but not as helpful as the workshops at Sundance. It was still nice to talk with people that are writing and get some input from professionals. I also got some good advice on the next steps to make (more on that later).

I kept busy writing, so I didn’t get to see very many of the films that were being screened. This was the only tragedy of the trip. But I wanted to polish a few things and organize all the feedback that I’ve been getting for my scripts.

My Psych script “You Can’t Spellcheck Yippie-Ki-Yay” won in the full hour TV category (this script was also a finalist at The Writer’s Place). The Office script “Relationship Divestiture” won in the half-hour TV category.

I received two silver starfish sculptures

All kinds of excitement over here. I’ll try to work less and update more…
